Established in the year 1989 , with core technical expertise and vision of Mr. Prabir Kumar Dutt, Polyols & Polymers Pvt. Ltd. was established as a firm. Mr. Dutt was part of the National Research Laboratory – Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute , Bhavnagar under the Council of Scientific Research ( now the CSIR , Council of Scientific & Industrial Research) under the Ministry of Science & Technology (CSMCRI), Govt of India.

He contributed for almost a decade and during his stint as a Senior Scientist was awarded by National Research Development Corporation of India, 3rd October 1980 for his stellar invention of Ketonic Resin .

He had a brief stint in the USA under the scientist exchange program and turned down an offer to work in the USA only to come back to India and fulfil his dreams.

Hailing from a family with a business background, Mr. Dutt was always inclined towards entrepreneurship. Since his graduation days at Indian Institute of Technology ( IIT) , Kharagpur and during his stint as a Senior Scientist in one of the National Laboratories (CSMCRI), his vision was clear about establishing a technology based organization. National Research Development Corporation of India has awarded Mr. Prabir Kumar Dutt for his contribution in development of Ketonic Resin.
